AOD9604 · How it works
Fat oxidation and the beta-3 pathway
In obese mice, two weeks of AOD9604 cut body weight and body fat and raised the beta-3 adrenergic receptor in fat tissue back to lean levels. That receptor lets fat cells respond to the body's own fat-burning signal, so the cells become more sensitive to it. AOD9604 also raised energy expenditure and fat oxidation directly. The effect is on how fat tissue handles fuel, not on appetite.
