Ara-290, Cibinetide
What it is
Ara-290 is a linear 11 amino acid peptide copied from helix B of erythropoietin, the face of EPO that faces away from the red-cell receptor. Its first amino acid is pyroglutamate, which protects it from breakdown. It lives only minutes in the blood, but one daily dose starts a repair programme that lasts all day. It has none of EPO's blood-thickening or blood-pressure effects.
