Botulinum Toxin · What it helps
The jawline and lower face
The masseter is the thick chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw, and when it is overbuilt, from clenching, grinding or simple inheritance, it widens the lower face. This use grew out of Asian practice, where a squarer lower face is a common concern, and it does two jobs at once by also easing the clench itself. Thickness falls as the muscle is used less, peaking near three months, and the shaping can hold six to twelve months from one session. Points stay inside the muscle's own boundaries, which is why this is anatomy work rather than a surface treatment.
