The injector adjusts at the next session, never during. A first session is usually judged on the low side, then reviewed at two weeks and topped up if a muscle is still pulling, because adding is simple and waiting out too much is not. Amounts differ by muscle bulk, by sex and by what you want to keep moving. Units cannot be carried across from another product, since each brand's Unit is its own measure of activity, and the label caps a total of 400 Units for an adult across any three month window.
