Headache that comes from the muscle

In chronic migraine the toxin is placed across seven muscle groups of the head and neck in a fixed pattern, and headache days fall by around ten per month. The Russian product Relatox was compared directly against BOTOX in 209 adults at 155 to 195 Units and matched it on headache days, migraine days and painkiller use. The effect is not only mechanical: the toxin also damps the release of pain messengers such as CGRP from sensory nerve endings. That is why it works on pain and not just on movement.
