In people with type 2 diabetes, HbA1c falls sharply and most reach normal or near-normal sugar. GLP-1 drives glucose-matched insulin, and amylin slows the stomach and holds back glucagon after meals. The after-meal spike flattens from two directions. This restores two signals that are low in type 2 diabetes.
