Cagrilintide · How it works
Amylin and calcitonin receptors
The amylin receptor is the calcitonin receptor paired with a helper protein called RAMP. Cagrilintide is a non-selective agonist: it switches on all three amylin receptors and the plain calcitonin receptor. That broad action is part of its strength on appetite and on fullness. It also restores leptin sensitivity in the hypothalamus, so the body's own fat signal is heard again.
