Inflamed ageing reversed
Ageing chondrocytes switch into a secretory state that pours out TNF-alpha and IL-1 alpha. They also raise the ageing brakes p16, p21 and p53 and lose SIRT1. AED normalises all of these. The cell stops eating its own cartilage and starts maintaining it.
