Sonic hedgehog repair
Sonic hedgehog is a growth pathway the brain reuses for repair. After stroke, Cerebrolysin turns this pathway on in the damaged area. New blood vessels and new neurons grow around the injury. Blocking the pathway removes the gain in function.
