DSIP, Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide · How it works
Calming the stress axis
DSIP lowers the release of corticotropin, ACTH, from the pituitary and lowers baseline cortisol. It also modulates luteinizing hormone and growth hormone release. Neurons in the hypothalamus that run hormone output hold DSIP-like material. This is why it helps sleep that is broken by stress, worry and shift work.
