Glutathione · How it works
Mitochondria and immune cells
Mitochondria make most of the cell's free radicals and cannot make their own glutathione, so they import it. Without it, mitochondrial DNA and membranes take damage and energy falls. Lymphocytes and natural killer cells also need glutathione to multiply and kill. Raising glutathione lifts NK cell activity and lymphocyte growth.
