IGF-1 LR4 · How it works
Muscle stem cells and new fibres
IGF-1 wakes satellite cells, the stem cells that sit along muscle fibres. They divide, then fuse into existing fibres and add new nuclei, which lets the fibre grow larger. This is hyperplasia and hypertrophy together. It is how muscle repairs after hard training or injury.
