Mixing and storage

Add 2 mL bacteriostatic water (or 0.6 percent acetic acid) to the 1 mg vial slowly down the side and swirl. That gives 500 mcg per mL, so 20 mcg is 4 units, 40 mcg is 8 units and 50 mcg is 10 units on an insulin syringe. Keep powder in the freezer or fridge; after mixing, fridge and use within 4 weeks.
