KPV, Lysine-Proline-Valine
What it is
KPV is Lys-Pro-Val, the final three amino acids of alpha-MSH. Alpha-MSH is a hormone made from the POMC protein in the brain, skin and immune cells, and it is one of the body's own brakes on inflammation. KPV keeps the calming effect but drops most of the hormone's pigment action. It is small enough to be taken by mouth and absorbed by the gut lining.
