Melanotan II, MT-2 · What it helps
Pigment with less light
Through MC1R it drives the skin's own dark eumelanin, so colour develops with much less ultraviolet exposure than a normal tan demands, and that pigment does genuine shielding work over the cell nucleus. Pale skin that normally burns can hold colour it could not otherwise make. The same receptor also lifts the melanocyte's DNA repair. The catch is that it is speaking directly to the cells moles are made of, which is the whole safety conversation around this molecule.
