NAD+ · How it works
DNA repair through PARP
PARP1 is the first responder to a broken DNA strand. It spends NAD+ to build a chain that calls the repair team to the break. Heavy DNA damage can drain NAD+ fast, and then the sirtuins and the mitochondria run short. Topping up NAD+ lets repair and energy run side by side instead of competing.
