Pinealon
What it is
Pinealon is a brain bioregulator: a chain of just three amino acids, Glu-Asp-Arg. Most peptides act on a receptor on the cell surface. Pinealon is so small it passes into the cell and its nucleus. There it binds histones and DNA and adjusts the genes neurons use for survival, antioxidant defence and signalling. It belongs to the St Petersburg set of short peptides designed to restore tissue function that fades with age.
