PNC-27 · What it helps
Ovarian cancer cells taken from patients
Cells cultured fresh from two women's newly diagnosed ovarian tumours were killed in proportion to amount, while the inactive control peptide did nothing. It also killed cells from long-established ovarian lines that had become resistant to chemotherapy. Resistance to chemotherapy usually works by blocking the apoptosis pathway, and a peptide that bursts the membrane instead does not care about that blockade. That is the mechanistic reason resistant cells stayed vulnerable.
