PT-141, Bremelanotide
What it is
Bremelanotide is a cyclic heptapeptide, the active metabolite of Melanotan II, with a free acid end. It mimics alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, the brain's own melanocortin. Under the name Vyleesi it is a registered treatment for low sexual desire in premenopausal women in the United States. It peaks in the blood about an hour after an injection and acts for several hours.
