Retatrutide · How it works
The GLP-1 signal
Through the GLP-1 receptor, retatrutide quiets hunger in the hypothalamus and brainstem, slows the stomach so meals last longer, and makes the pancreas release insulin only when glucose is high. This is the same pathway as semaglutide, used here as one of three levers. It keeps the after-meal sugar spike low while the glucagon arm is raising fuel burn.
