Selank
The story
Selank was built at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Moscow by Nikolai Myasoedov's team, working with the Zakusov Institute of Pharmacology. They started from tuftsin, a natural immune peptide, and added the Pro-Gly-Pro tail they had already used for Semax. Russian psychiatrists compared it with phenazepam, a strong tranquiliser, and found matching calm without the drowsiness. It was registered in Russia in 2009 as 0.15% nasal drops for anxiety and nervous exhaustion.
