SS-31, Elamipretide
In people
People on SS-31 most often describe more stamina, less muscle fatigue and clearer thinking after two to four weeks, with mild redness at the injection site the most common thing they notice. People with Barth syndrome taking 40 mg a day for over three years walked about 96 metres farther in six minutes, felt less fatigue and their hearts pumped better, with cardiolipin markers moving toward normal. The changes come from mitochondria working again, so they build steadily rather than all at once.
