Survodutide · How it works
Energy use
Glucagon raises the body's resting energy expenditure, so more fuel is burned even at rest. This copies oxyntomodulin, the body's own gut hormone that acts on both GLP-1 and glucagon receptors and rises after bariatric surgery. In animal models survodutide lowered weight further than a pure GLP-1 agonist at matched food intake, because of the extra fuel burn.
