Survodutide
What it is
Survodutide, also known by its code BI 456906, is a dual glucagon and GLP-1 receptor agonist. It copies the action of oxyntomodulin, a hormone released from L cells in the lower gut after a meal. The GLP-1 arm controls hunger and insulin. The glucagon arm burns fat in the liver and raises energy use. One weekly injection delivers both.
