Thymosin Alpha-1 · How it works
Tolerance through IDO
Thymosin Alpha-1 also turns on the enzyme IDO in dendritic cells, which builds regulatory T cells. Those cells hold back runaway inflammation and autoimmunity. So the same peptide sharpens defence and calms damage at once. Luigina Romani's group in Perugia called it an endogenous regulator of inflammation, immunity and tolerance.
