TB-500, Thymosin Beta-4
What it is
Thymosin beta-4 is a 43 amino acid peptide, capped with an acetyl group at the start: Ac-SDKPDMAEIEKFDKSKLKKTETQEKNPLPSKETIEQEKQAGES. The body makes it in nearly every cell and releases it from platelets into wounds. TB-500 is the trade name for this peptide or for its actin-binding fragment, Ac-LKKTETQ (amino acids 17 to 23). Both work on the same actin and repair pathway.
