Thymalin
What it is
Thymalin is a polypeptide complex extracted from calf thymus and freeze-dried into a powder. It is not one single sequence, but its active parts are known short peptides, chiefly Lys-Glu and Glu-Trp. In Russia it is a registered immune medicine used for weakened immunity, after radiation and chemotherapy, in infection and in the elderly. It belongs to the Khavinson family of peptide bioregulators alongside Epithalamin from the pineal gland.
