Thymalin
The story
Thymalin was developed in the 1970s at the Kirov Military Medical Academy in Leningrad by Vladimir Khavinson and Vladimir Morozov, first to restore immunity in soldiers exposed to radiation and extreme stress. It became a registered medicine in the USSR and later in Russia. At the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology and the Kiev Institute of Gerontology, 266 elderly people were followed for 6 to 8 years. Those given Thymalin courses had a 2.0 to 2.1-fold lower death rate, and those given Thymalin with Epithalamin each year for 6 years had a 4.1-fold lower death rate. In 2020 Khavinson and colleagues in Chita and St. Petersburg added Thymalin to the care of severe COVID-19.
