Tirzepatide · How it works
Insulin sensitivity and the liver
Working through both receptors at once, tirzepatide lowers glucagon after meals and raises insulin sensitivity in muscle and liver. That improvement shows up even before much weight is lost, which points to a direct effect on how tissues handle fuel. Liver fat drops, triglycerides fall and the waist shrinks as the deep visceral fat around the organs is drawn down first.
