Tirzepatide

What it is

Tirzepatide is a once weekly peptide that acts like two of your own gut hormones at the same time: GIP and GLP-1. Both are released from the small bowel after you eat and tell the brain, pancreas, stomach and fat tissue that food has arrived. Tirzepatide is built on the GIP backbone, with two Aib amino acids that stop the enzyme DPP-4 from cutting it, and a fatty acid tail that binds albumin so it stays in the blood for about five days. It is a metabolic signal, not a fat burner: it changes how hungry you are, how your body stores fuel and how your insulin works.
