Opening vessels and airways

VIP relaxes smooth muscle in blood vessels, airways and the gut wall. It is one of the strongest dilators of the lung's vessels and airways. It also drives water and salt secretion in the gut. This keeps blood flowing and air moving where tissue is inflamed.
